Worth visiting!
I'm not really a beach person...
...so it wasn’t actually a very good idea to come here! It’s a pretty town – it feels much more Italian than the other towns of the Riviera – but beyond sunbathing, there doesn’t seem to be much to do.

Finally made it to Menton!
Although, not at the time of the Lemon Festival..reason to return! I love the Cote d’Azur. If I ever won the lottery, I would buy a third home here!(second home in England)The gardens are AMAZING! I liked this pretty pink house with the bouganvillea& Paulownia tree. What a view!

Why I want to go to this place
Menton intrigued me the first time I saw a picture of it.
It bears a striking resemblance to the place I live- Three tree Point on Puget Sound, Washington state.

Menton is more Italianate than French. Right at the border of Italy, Menton marks the eastern frontier of the Côte d'Azur. Its climate is the warmest on the Mediterranean coast, and in winter it attracts a large, elderly British colony. The impact of these seniors on the population of 130,000 has earned Menton the sobriquet "the Fort Lauderdale of France." According to a local legend, Eve was the first to experience Menton's glorious climate. When she and Adam were expelled from the Garden of Eden, she tucked a lemon in her bosom, planting it at Menton because it reminded her of her former stamping grounds. Lemons still grow in profusion here, and the fruit is given a position of honor at the Lemon Festival held over a 2-week period in February. Actually, the oldest Menton visitor might have arrived 30,000 years ago. He's still around -- or, at least, his skull is -- in the Musée de Préhistoire Régionale .
