got there on the top of a sihk driven petrol lorry in a pre- winter convoy to the town. rolled vehicles all the way along the worst road i’ve ever been on – other than the Whistler/Vancouver highway in 1975.

after coming back down i was one of the last tourists in kashmir before they closed it. long time ago.

Located in the Himalayas, the northermost region of India – cold desert – known for its ancient monastries (gompas) … the oldest one that I visited was ~1000 AD.

its like no place i have every been too .. almost felt like a place showing you its soul with no pretense about it ..
