Cherokee

My grandmother lives here, so I am prejudiced in its favor. Sure, Cherokee is not the world’s most happening town, but a lot of the area is beautiful; it’s within twenty minutes drive of Helen Keller’s birthplace, and where else can you find a coon dog cemetery, complete with tombstones inscribed with loving rhymes about these hunting dogs?

Very small town. Not even a red light. A couple of restaurants and gas stations, along with a Piggly Wiggly (grocery) is about all you will find in Cherokee. It’s a pretty area, especially along the Tennessee River.
