Worth visiting!

I lived here for about a year. It was ok. I miss living in Illinois, as there was so much to do, living so close to Chicago & Gurnee Mills. There’s a lot to see if you hit this area!

Worth visiting!

Summer 2004 I went to waukegan/chicago, it was fun. Waukegan was just the place where our hotel was. And six flags is about 5 minutes away, that was cool.

There was this one restaurant there, they had unbelieveable breakfast for really cheap…I think it was called ‘Emily’s’. But I could be wrong.

Worth visiting!

Waukegan is close to Chicago. I have family there. That definitely makes it worth visiting.

Worth visiting!

I see from Writers’ Almanac that yesterday, Friday, was

“the birthday of the poet and essayist Diane Ackerman, born Diane
Fink in Waukegan, Illinois (1948). She wrote her first book of poems,
The Planets, entirely about astronomy. It came out in 1976. She
became a journalist as well. She wrote essays about animals. She’s
best known for her book A Natural History of the Senses, a collection
of essays about her own experiences of sight and sound, smell, touch
and taste.

Diane Ackerman said, “I don’t want to get to the end of my life and
find that I lived just the length of it. I want to have lived the
wits of it as well.” ” (Garrison Keillor, Writers’ Almanac, 15 October 2005, www.writersalmanac.org )

Hometown of Ray Bradbury, author  — 2 years ago

Worth visiting!

Ray Bradbury wrote The Illustrated Man, and other stories which we call science fiction. I liked his stories very much when I was a lad. One of my favorite of this short stories is “Dandelion Wine.”

Here is a link to a filmography of R.B.: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001969/

I went here once, not long after graduation from college, on my own on a train from Union Station. I went to the Great Lakes Naval Station to get a physical for The Peace Corps. The PC was going to send me to Tunisia, but the doc detected an inguinal hernia, which nixed my going there.
