La Serena

We stopped here for a few hours to break up our 26 hour bus ride from Santiago to San Pedro de la Atacama.

There is a sweet lighthouse on the beach to visit. It’s a nice town. While walking around, we found a church with a plaque saying that it had been ransacked by pirates!

I spent a day here before I went to Las Campanas Observatory for a 4 night observing session.

I spent 3 weeks there during the winter and it was amazing! I took so many pictures and La Serena is beautiful between the mountains and the beach!
