Don't climb the rocks beneath the falls
I nearly killed myself here and am only alive today because of god. Although spiritually it was an important moment in my life, I don’t want someone else to kill themselves needlessly because the rocks are slippery and it is very easy to get hurt or worse.
I had climbed on a large rock way up above the signs warning you to take a picture. After that as I was about to climb down I slipped falling 30ft head first out of control. I was lucky enough to have my body wedged between 2 rocks inches before the ground and survived. Although I was badly bruised I didn’t break any bones. It took me more than an hour to climb back down bloody and soaked, and no one had seen my fall or helped me. Because there were 2 other climbers who fell that day, I could not get any treatment at the Yosemite medical clinic, and ended up driving all the way home (5 hours) to Los Angeles stiff as a board.

Plan on getting wet
Don’t forget to take an umbrella with you if you plan on walking up to the falls. You’ll get soaked it you don’t!

This is just a short walk from the parking area and was running even in late September. Don’t climb on the rocks, even dry, they are polished extremely smooth.
As I was leaving a bunch of Japanese tourists were learning the Macarena
