Worth visiting!
Why I recommend this place to locals
The GFT is an amazing place, lots of character and plenty of interesting things to see. Makes a nice change from the awful, soulless cinemas that are so prevalent today. Take a wee trip there one day, you won’t be disappointed.

I can already tell I’ll be spending lots of time at the GFT seeing obscure, wonderful films.

Worth visiting!
Ashamedly, the first time...
Given how much I love cinema, particularly more obscure titles, it’s a surprise to me that it has taken so long for me to visit the GFT.
I went to see Howl’s Moving Castle. Much to my delight, it was the Japanese version, although I was looking forward to hearing how Billy Crystal did his character.
All the seats in the GFT have a sponsor. For example, I sat behind Tilda Swinton’s chair. All the chairs have plaques bearing the name of the person who funded it. Tilda’s chair was next to John Byrne’s and I was shocked to discover later that they are married. I don’t know who to envy more.
