Devils Lake

The lake is the big attraction here. Fishing, either on the ice or on the water. There’s also a big ice fishing tourny every year.

It’s also the largest place to go shopping on hwy 2 between grand forks and minot.

There are some good places in Devils Lake to go view christmas lights too.

What brought me to Devil’s Lake was a family reunion. Otherwise, the chances of me ever being in North Dakota would have been slim to none. And, considering the blinding, driving thunderstorms, the biblical swarm of bugs, and the thick soupy plains fog that found us driving on the wrong side of the highway at night, I doubt I will be back.

Of course, these experiences were had and were interpreted through the jaded, bi-coastal eyes of a twenty year old. In retrospect, I have alot of respect for the plains and the people who lived/live there. Still, you wouldn’t catch me dead there.
