Why I recommend this place to visitors
Karlovy Vary is home to many Russian expatriates and quite a contrast to the surrounding Czech Republic. It’s quaint and picturesque town is surrounded by vast woodland and forests. It is worth visiting at least once just for the views and to taste the fresh mineral water in the many springs around the town.

The Spa Town
This is a small town about 20 miles from the German border. It’s main source of income comes from tourism due to its hot mineral water springs. The river that splits the town in two gives off steam, so at night the town seems to be under the blanket of low lying clouds. It’s simply mystifying.
There are hot water fountains all over town where you can fill a glass from, above every one of these fountains there is a sign where it says the temperature of the water, the mineral elements found in it, and the properties it has if you drink it. Every hotel in town is oriented towards health related services, and there are a couple of world renowned spa hotels.
The people are incredibly nice due to their service oriented town.

Untitled
Spa town frozen in a long gone time. Visions of grandeur. Tea time with Austrian dignitaries. Quiet sobbings in hotel rooms.
