Mornington Peninsula

came here with my girl a few months ago … it was really beautiful and its a great place to just drive around and sightsee some beautiful beaches. loved walking on the beaches … plan to come back :)

The beautiful Mornington Peninsula is just an hour’s drive from Melbourne and has some of the most beautiful beaches in Australia. You can choose from the wild surf beaches on one side or the calm safe beaches of the bay. In Summer the place is swamped with tourists from Melbourne. Despite that there are so many places to enjoy the beach that finding a place to park your towel and umbrella is never a problem. Parking your car is a whole other story.

Lived here nearly all my life… Love it. Except Frankston, which isn’t really part of the Peninsula anyway… Although, hanging around the Frankston train station is an interesting experience. Not that I’d ever do that.

This is where I would like to end up.
A great area for a break just outside the city and weekends away. Great wines, food, beaches with lots to do.
