Crim Dell

I’ve swam it, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, as long as you don’t touch the bottom. However I did later learn that there are koi in the dell, which probably would have scared me, haha.

I did walk across this bridge – and married the man I walked across it with (and I didn’t know about the lore til later ;)

Playboy magazine named Crim Dell one of the 10 most romantic spots on college campuses. An oriental-style bridge crosses the pond, and according to legend, if a woman crosses it by herself, she’ll be an old maid. But if a couple starts across the bridge, stops in the center, kisses and then returns to the side from which they originated, they’ll get married.

It’s very pretty in all four seasons. Swimming in Crim Dell (which I would not recommend, because despite the scenery, the water is not clean) is part of the unofficial William and Mary thiathlon.
