Oregon Coast Aquarium

Wasn’t at all impressed by this aquarium, especially with all the hype surrounding it, it being Keiko’s home for a short while and all. With the exception of the sharks and the sea otters, everything they have can be seen at the Oregon Zoo – for cheaper, at that. Save your money and head over to Ripley’s or Sea Lion Caves instead, should you be in Newport and/or surrounding areas.

It was the first time going there. My son wanted to make sure we saw it all, and we did, withing one hour. My 4 year old was scared to go through the Deep Sea exhibit, but she got over it and loved seeing the fish swim around her. Plus, she enjoyed the scuba diver that wrote her notes. It is a bit pricey, but got lots of cute pictures.

I think this Aquarium is small with not much to see. I have been to the aquariums in Denver and Seattle and was disappointed by OCA. But we live in Oregon so we go once a year and make do.

was last week. Started quite a bit north and it was pouring, as we headed south it cleared up. We usually visit this aquarium a few times a year, and every time we have visitors with kids. Right now they’re having the “claws” exhibit, worth visiting, especially with children.

My daughter and I went here recently for the first time, and during my first vacation.

I had heard there were large sharks there which is what intrigued me to go. I was disappointed when they weren’t there, however there were baby sharks.

I still enjoyed the exhibits. It was interesting to see the huge starfish and my daughter loves jellyfish and enjoyed seeing them.
