Obviously, if you’re going to a state park, you bring good walking shoes. However, that was not the case from what I saw, even on the trails. I went on a twelve mile hike with my friend, and it was rough even with our hiking boots on.

Save the flip-flops for the shower, bring some walking shoes for the trails, and you won’t have blocks for feet in the morning.

the last time i went to this place was 2 summers ago (2006).

i have been here a few times, and it was always beautiful. upper michigan and its waterfalls are my favorite things in life, you see, but on this particular occasion i was slightly disappointed because it was quite dry.

the hike on the way to the falls is AMAZING, so even if the falls aren’t flowing very fast, you should go anyway.

Its not that the falls were a bad place to go, they were just a bit of a let down and left me thinking “thats it?” Getting to the falls is the best part. I do advise anyone planning on going as a fall colour tour and taking the ferry to beware! Was a great ride but we were on it with a large group that goes every year and they drank the bar dry before we even got to the falls LOL

I would go again just for the getting there part of the falls. And while your that far north make sure to go to Whitefish Point and the Shipwreak museum

Try to get up here in the winter. Its a great xcountry ski.

Visit the restaurant. My 3rd (or 4th?) cousins own it.
