It's so very long ago; I was twelve years old — 2 years ago
Worth visiting!
And my mama’ and Dad got me a charro hat, black velvet with silver embroidery.
My mother was born in Guadalajara in 1924. She is the daughter of Don Jorge Padilla and Donya Carolina Santoscoy. He was the district attorney, or the equivalent therof in the state of Jalisco. He also was an active participant in the Cristero movement, and a founder of the PAN. For this he was targeted by the PRI, put on a list to be assassinated by a death squad.
He escaped, as did most of our family. Today we are alive and well, and Mexico still struggles for justice, and economic and social equity for its peoples.
