Mesquite

I have been to this town AS A DESTINATION at least 7 times! Great fun for the kids.

I visited Mesquite on my way home from Las Vegas last September. My husband and I found a $3 blackjack table at one of the casinos in the middle of the afternoon. We played for a few hours and did very well! The dealers were all very friendly and gave advice on how to play. The other players were also friendly, and many of them appeared to be regulars. I would love to go back again, but it’s quite a drive from Salt Lake City (5 hours). Out of all the gambling destinations I’ve been to, this has been my favorite. The rooms are very affordable on weekdays ($25-$40) but I haven’t stayed there yet ;)

Actually, I was a tour guide one summer for seniors travelling from Winnipeg (Canada) to Mesquite on bus. The road trip was long, but let me tell you, those seniors know how to have fun. (the told some REALLY dirty jokes too!) The casino district is nice and it’s not that far away from Las Vegas. Sooo humid in the summer. But I didn’t spend much time outside on account of that
