Ishpeming

I lived here for many years. I graduated high school here. I hated it. The place is s dump. I was happy to move to Marquette while I went to NMU for college. Every time I drove to Ishpeming to spend time with my family, I found driving through, seeing the locals, to be a very saddening, depressing, disgusting affair. It’s bad when you know friends who have had to consult their family tree before dating someone, for fear they may be closely related.

As a kid I rode my bike through the streets of the Eighth Addition, and spent some Sunday afternoon meals with my great aunt and uncle at their house. We had a big sandbox in our back yard that a lot of the neighborhood played in. It was a good town to be a kid in then.

Love it here, small towns, lots of things to do if you love nature, being in the woods, hunting, fishing, 4wheeling, snowmobiling, camping, etc. Great place to visit, but the economy sucks, dont plan on settling down here and finding a good job :(
