    Worth visiting!

everyone is comfortable with each other and life is simple
i stay with my relatives when i go back, with my aunt and uncle
people in saigon don’t really worry about the things we worry here
    such as break-ins, or robberies
most people don’t lock their doors and actually leave them wide open all day
occasionally a woman walks by with nail polish and nail tools and stuff, asking us if we want manicures or pedicures

    it’s also pretty humid
it doesn’t rain often but when it does, it’s a very hot rain and the winds aren’t cold, they’re hot, as though someone is breathing on you

it turns out that one dollar in our money can be about 1600 there
a hundred dollars equals out to about a million dollars
so a person who is middle-class and makes average income
could be a millionaire over there

there also aren’t many cars there
they do have cars but mostly only tourists or large travelers or businessmen use them
the locals use a type of moped
it’s not really a moped or a motorcycle
but i suppose that would be what it’d look like here
it’s very fun to ride on one of those, i must say
it could even pass as a type of taxi because i was going to go shopping with my aunt and instead of getting a car, a guy came on his moped/motorcycle and took us to the mall and we paid him
it really was like getting a taxi i guess
except not really getting into a car

i’m not really sure what else to add.
this is merely a production of boredom
but i suppose if there are any serious questions, they’re welcome to me

    p.s.
you might want to refer to the city as saigon, not ho chi minh city because vietnamese people really don’t like that name
and you can’t really blame them because ho chi minh was the communist leader
it’d be like if europe had a hitler city or something yknow?

    Worth visiting!

I visited a cousin who was living in HCMC over the lunar new year holiday in 2007.

It was a little different as a lot of stuff was closed and it was generally less crowded feeling as a result of the holiday, but still quite a lot of fun.

I absolutely love vietnamese cuisine and if nothing else I want to go back to eat more of it.

Also, you kind of have to rent a scooter, both out of necessity and because it’s really fun as a way to get around.

    Worth visiting!

It’s worth it to do alot of your shopping here. If you know where do get items with a good quality, you can save a lot vs. paying more to get the same here in the U.S.

    Worth visiting!

i’ve got mixed feelings about this place. This place is great to visit but i don’t think i’d want to live here. They have the craziest drivers who doesn’t know where the break is on their bikes. But on the other hand met some really nice people and ate awesome food.

    Worth visiting!

I was born in Bulgaria, but I was growing up in Ho Chi Minh city which is a wonderful city in my opinion. We are very proud of our food, landscape, and people. About the food, you can eat all kinds of food you want, such as, Vietnamese’s specialities, Chinese, Indian, Greek, Italian, French, Korean, .... Something more about Vietnamese’s specialities, I think everyone loves out noodle soup, named Pho which makes my international friends crazy. Oh my god, it make me crazy all time. I think I should stop talking about the food because you have to go there to taste it.

    Worth visiting!

All my live I`ve been born and raised in California. I always wanted to goto Vietnam to see how it was, because it is my heritage and what not. So last summer, before going into my senior year, I travelled to Vietnam with my parents and one of my cousins. It was a great experience. Over in Vietnam, I had my mom’s whole side of the family too meet! Such a big family!!
My cousin and I would walk around the places, going into shopping centers, malls, just about everything. Things being sold there are similiar to the things in california and such, but they usually have a distinct characteristic to it, which makes it known to be from Vietnam.
If you ever get a chance to go, i would most definitly say its worth visiting. You really get to experience the totally different enviroment.

    Worth visiting!

The last time I visited Ho Chi Minh City was when I was about 10. I am going again in 2007. From my memory, Ho Chi Minh City was great. Maybe it was because I was a kid. I remember running in the rain barefooted (that might not be the smartest thing to do now that I think about it), riding on motocycles, and just eating hot noodles. The only bad thing that happened in Vietnam was probably when the store owners figured out I was from America (yes I am Asian).. so they charged me more for the items. Besides that, it was cool there
