…was when I first moved to the area, and I was walking with my dogs.
I was dropped off at the local dog park, and then I walked towards Genesee Park and onto Washington Lake. I had previously investigated on GoogleEarth that there were a couple roads to lead me home back from the lake, but there were no crosswalks to access them.
As I continued strolling, I was impressed with the beauty of the lakeshore. And I continued, and continued endlessly, until I finally came to a crosswalk which led me to the most beautiful park. It was love at first sight ;)
I thought I was waaaay off course, but the park made me forget as I was immersed in it. Then I reached the southern tip of the park and realized I was just 3 blocks from home! I was so surprised that I was so close, and yet I was ecstatic that I could come to this park more often :o)
Ever since, I’ve become a regular of the Mount Baker Park, and it still remains as my favorite park. It’s not small; it’s not big; it doesn’t have any outstanding features that would make it a huge attraction. But the feel of serenity and the general atmosphere of the place and its people is magnificent :o)
The photo is of my doggies on the dock on the northern end just before entering Mount Baker Park.
