Kitsilano Pool aka: Kits Pool

Kitsilano Pool is Vancouver’s largest draw & fill salt water pool. It was opened at the water’s edge in 1931, and replaced in 1979 by an oceanside tank (about 150 meters at its outermost edge) which uses salt water and is heated.

A 150 yard pool (137.5 meters). Water is partly salt water partly fresh water, and it is chlorinated. Two lanes to swim on: one for going West, and the other one for going East. Easy to pass other people as there is plenty of room, and there is very little chance of a head on collision, as is often the case while passing in normal pool lanes. The scenery around is beautiful. Only open from the Spring to the very early Fall.
