This is one of the few places in the center of Oxford that, even when there’s a rush of tourists and Italian EF students rampaging about the place, one can still manage to find a spot where the jabber of 16-year-olds seems muffled and lying outside can be almost peaceful.

Dead Man’s Walk, Broad Walk, the Isis (Thames) pathway with swans and canal boats… used to study here sometimes. It’s lovely.
