Basnight's Lone Cedar Cafe

Earlier this year the restaurant burned to the ground and it recently re-opened after being rebuilt. The new layout is larger and different. The rooms are not quite as cozy any more, so the noise of other diners is a dull roar (actually, last year, that would have been welcome, as a screaming baby nearly ruined our meal). My crab cake was not quite as huge as in the past (just as tasty, only smaller), but the serving of bluefish was three large pieces. Delicious!

Huge portions of fresh, locally-caught seafood in a casual but elegant setting on the Manteo Causeway. Every table has a view of the water, and some tables in the non-smoking section have a view of the Bodie Island Lighthouse. The crab cakes are just crab — no filler. This is my favorite restaurant in Nags Head.
