For serious—Josh P., we owe you one for this recommendation. I couldn’t imagine a more perfect hotel stay.

Excellent place to stay while in Positano, the first city conceived on a vertical (rather than horizontal) axis. Speaking of which, this place is easily an 800-foot climb from the beach. Save yourself the walk by booking the seaview junior suite (room 216), whose Jacuzzi tub looks out over the ocean. Just like being down there except with less sand in your nooks and crannies. And jets!

Maybe the best stay in any hotel I’ve ever experienced. I wish I had written down the room number – #28 I think. Splurge for a balcony with a view of the sea. You’ve come this far – why not!
