My wife is the real 'travel person.' That said ...  — 2 years ago

I’ll go to Europe ONLY if we include a week where I can eat here twice a day for at least a week. The food (and service) IS that good!

There’s an ‘inside’ restaraunt AND (the place you really want to be) “family style” long bench tables in front. If you don’t find yourself shareing your meal with the folks to the left/right/across from you, you’ve missed half the fun.

After a couple of days (lunch/dinner) most fun is to hand the waiter/tris back your menu and say “surprise me.” Ditto with the wine. Ciak also has an excellent wine store steps away for the fellow/lady to choose from.

It’s ok to suggest a ‘price limit’ on the wine if you wish, but each time I’ve done this it’s always been a medium price wine (and excellent!) not the most pricie in the place. One night you may get a sea food with a chilled local ($3.00 USD) local wine (very good I might add) or a knock your socks of red from some place else.

One way or the other, this is NOT a place to eat just once.

Can’t wait to go back!!!!!

Oh, forgot to tell you about the small window that looks down into ‘Ciak’s domain.’ Looked through that window for five years until I finally figured out what goes into the sauce for his sea food pasta. Worth every second! to watch THE Master at work.

‘Clicker’ says I live there … DON’T I WISH!!! In Ashland, Oregon, USA
