Aiken is a shop and business town from what I’ve seen of it. The malls are a plus. The area’s not exactly scenic, unless buildings are your thing. However, as you head towards my county (Barnwell) its more rural and prettier.

Aiken is a great little town. Totally worth a visit.
But I LIVE here.

I went to high school in Aiken. It’s a sleepy town so it’s not exactly the best place to spend your teenage years. But it’s beautiful and there are horses everywhere. Plus, the general level of education is high because so many residents are employed by the nearby Savannah River Site. It’s a great place to raise kids, just not a real happening place to be one.
