Overheard at this place
The small stream underneath were you are walking could give you hypothermia in an extremely short amount of time.
In other words, don’t fall out of the boat.
The caverns were awesome. Highly recommended!

The first time I went to this place
I was acutally completely ready to hate Howe Caverns- it was a family outing that I didn’t want to be on.
But I loved the cool, wet, underground place- so different from outside. I thought it was completely amazing and I would definitaly go back there.
The fact that it was cold and damp was just another plus for me, because I am a hater of warm weather.
I liked the fact that there was really no life down there, but it almost seemed as though there was. I can’t really explain this feeling, but I want to go back as soon as I have my driver’s license.

it's fun
I went a long time ago on a Girl Scout trip. It’s cool when you’re in the caves and they take you on a boat into the river that is in the caves. They turn out the lights, it is just pure blackness.

A great family outing
I visited Howe Caverns a few years ago, and it was quite an enjoyable experience. You can take a walking/boat tour, during which your guide will point out some of the interesting geological features. It’s not the most adventuresome experience (there are handrails, lamps, and electrical outlets clearly visible on the main path), but it’s a safe place to bring the kids.
