Write an entry Entries about this placeBeautiful area of lower N.Y. state by BanjoJoeThis is in lower N.Y. state, not far from the N.J. state line and not far from where I live. Lots of beautiful drives through the mountains in this area. Part of the Appalachian Trail passes through here. Also, for the more adventurous, there are old and abandoned iron mines from ‘back in the day’ (1800s). One thing I didn’t like is that people leave their garbage there; one time, I was taking a girl for a drive through the park, she saw a little lake where she wanted to have our picnic. I pulled over, we sat by the lakefront …. and looked down at plates with rice and chicken bones and plastic forks. The inconsiderate jerks had just left their garbage there. But that is a people complaint; the park itself is wonderful, all four seasons. over 5 years agoUntitled by LatentDreamsAs a small child I can still recall the Sunday afternoon drives my family would take here. Bear Mountain is a very beautiful place. over 6 years agoSee all 6 entries |
