A review of this place

Corn Dogs, Dave Ryan (the best morning show ever), food, beer, rides, food, concerts, cookies, old people, kids and food…oh did I mention there’s food? haha bring some money!

It’s pretty tight…minus the smell and the old people and kids – they get annoying. The place gets pretty crowded and people don’t know how to walk but overall its fun.

Why I recommend this place to visitors

The state fair is fantastic. I go every year with my family, we eat, ride rides, eat, see all the exhibits and animals, eat, and do every silly free thing we can (pretend fishing for marlins, hammering nails, everything). There is so much to do eat and see that we never get bored, never see it all, and always want to return.

Why I want to go to this place

Because i keep hearing how much fun it is. And we don’t get a great deal of food on sticks in this country, probably limited to satay chicken from the local takeaway or tiger prawns when we have a barbecue, although I did once make Pineapple kebabs..

I have a feeling that the food on sticks at the state fair would be slightly less healthy..

I want to see the butter sculptures!

I try to schedule a trip back home to MN every August just to go to the fair!

Funny story: The first time my mom, who grew up in St. Paul, visited me in NYC she said, “Wow, all of these people in this city. It’s like the State Fair!”
