Worth visiting!

again not what i would normally describe as paradise, not at all,yet i loved it,it felt serene, beautiful ,peaceful, laidback,i was taken aback with its natural raw feel,i cannot for some reason describe it,but i am going back as soon as i can hopefully not just for a holiday but if things go well to live…....sometimes being in the right place at the right time in the right frame of mind can make it an experience that i cannot describe but only wish for others to be able to experience it for themselves…...i was there not just physically,i was there totally, all of me was there, all of me…......

Worth visiting!

La Jolla was great— we went to the beach and did a kayaking tour of the Pacific. There was a cave that we got to kayak thru, and we got to see a ton of sea lions that were laying along the rocks.

Little-known fact  — 1 year ago

It’s not a city. It’s a neighborhood within the city of San Diego.

Worth visiting!

I liked climbing on the rocks by the cove. You might like it too. Some people go snorkeling there. I don’t know if they see anything. If you are going to do that, wear a wetsuit or something, because that water’s COLD, baby!

Not worth it!

Not to disagree with the many people who had a great time… But! grin. Actually, I worked here for over a year and spent much time here. It’s not so much that I wouldn’t recommend it as that I’d consider it overrated. There are some beautiful views, though I find Scripps Beach and Windandsea more accessible and less trafficked than the Cove. The most interesting thing about Windandsea is that used to be one of the most territorial surfing beaches in the country, and is also where Bob Simmons, one of the great innovators of surfing (he invented the skeg) died mysteriously one afternoon. It’s very expensive and much of the town closes up shop early, though there are some great restaurants. On the other hand, there are some beach towns that are much less touristy or expensive heading north of Del Mar – Leucadia and Encinitas are so much warmer in tone.

Had a great time in La Jolla! I would love to relocate here, but quite pricey.
