Birdland

Was here this past Saturday to see Steve Kuhn Trio with Ron Carter (bass) & Al Foster (drums). I enjoyed it! Everyone played exceptionally well as usual, but Steve Kuhn had me mesmerized by his talent on the piano.

The service and food was great too. I ordered an apple martini and their popcorn shirp…mmmmm! Their prices were reasonable considering the caliber of the place. Meals were between $13 and $27. They had things on their menu like Southern Style Macaroni & Cheese topped with fresh bread crumbs then toasted, Catfish Blackened or Fried Lousiana Style served with Cajun rice and collard greens, and Vegetarian Plate which included garlic whipped potatoes, steamed vegetables, sauteed spinach & sauteed mushrooms.

Nice place to hang out and listen to music while sipping wine or eating a full course meal.
