Tropicana Resort and Casino

The stained glass over the gaming floor was beautiful. Also, it had the cheapest blackjack tables I could find anywhere on the Strip at $5/hand. They currently have a Titanic exhibit, but they gouge you on it at about $25-30, more if you want to bring your camera (or are they not even allowed?).

It’s an okay place to visit, but you don’t want to stay in the hotel. Non-smoking rooms smell like smoke, rooms with a balcony smell like jet exhaust, shower heads are at neck level, wallpaper peeling, air conditioning not working. When I walked onto the patio, I kicked over a half-empty beer can that nobody bothered to clean up, then when I went to the bathroom I had to pick the toilet seat up off of the floor and reattach it to the toilet. When my flight was delayed, I spent the night in a Comfort Inn in North Las Vegas, which was the lap of luxury compared to this.

This hotel had a whole series of exhibits, including Bodies and artifacts from the Titanic. It’s not the Bellagio, but if you’re looking for strange things to see, this is a good place to go.
