Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore

I grew up in southern michigan, and we used to go to the dunes quite a bit. My brother and i loved it. Flip flops are a must though because the sand is HOOTTTT! A growing danger has been growing with swimming in the area due to the undertow so be very careful. Nevertheless its pretty awesome to see all that sand. What a neat nat’l park!

The dunes are great for the beach and the naturalist programs. You’ll need mosquito repellent at night. While you’re in town, go picking at Stateline Blueberries. Mmmm.

I love the Dunes! I go at least once a week in the spring/summer. Even if I don’t go down the the beach it is a great drive through some beautiful scenery. My friends and I often go as dusk to see all the little critters coming out to eat. I never swim in the lake though. I use to but the last few years so many people have been killed by the under tow that I just can’t do it.
