Kilravock Castle

This is a little castle held by the Clan Rose. The head of the clan donated the castle to be used for a Christian retreat a few years ago, but we were lucky enough to have contacts to let us stay there a few nights. Wonderful castle steeped in history and the family museum holds many interesting artifacts, including a punch bowl that served Bonny Prince Charlie and armor from different periods in Scotland’s history.
The head of Clan Rose dined with us every morning and evening of our visit to the castle and told us the history of the castle as only the Chief of the clan knows it.
It was a fabulous stay and one of my favorite places in Scotland. It almost made me wish I was a Rose instead of a Taylor (Cameron). Almost.
