my father was stationed here years ago and i practically grew up there… from when i was one until i was about five or six. that’s when we moved to california (so i guess i left around 1991/1992?)

i remember my time there pretty well (i once drew our house inside and out for an assignment in one of my classes and my mom was shocked, because everything was so accurate in terms of placement, haha)...

i really miss my time there! we lived on base, but i always went on errands with my mom off base. :3 maybe i’ll go visit again, because for sure i’m going to japan again. ^^

I lived here back in 1975-1977 at the Air Force Base. We lived offbase for a year and then onbase. It was the best time of my life. It’s so far removed from the city life, so you get a true feel for local Japan.

It seemed like there was a festival of some sort every month, so it made for great fun on the weekends to go downtown, eat, and have fun watching the parade.

It was usually cold with lots of snow. The base had it’s own small ski slope that the high school kids used; we even had our own beach too. Our family used to drive out to the Pacific side of the island early in the morning and search for glass floats that slip off from the fising nets.

I was born on the air force base here, we lived there for 2.5 years and moved. I want to go back. I’m sad because i dont remember it!

Was when I was 2 years old.. We left when I was 6. :)

You should visit hot-spas in this city.

I lived in this smaller city for 3 years while growing up in the Military, was there from 7th-9th grade. :) It was one of the best experiences in my life! :D

You can really see some old world ways of Japan and still get a feel for a modern Japanese city.

really small can wlak through in about half an hour, but it also has a big town atmosphere in parts
