Cannon Beach

beautiful discomfort… well spoken.

My last time to Cannon Beach it rained the whole time I was there, but I still had a blast. Between the unexplained bunnies hopping around outside our motel, mini-golfing for Jesus and the beautiful discomfort inherit to the Oregon Coast you can’t go wrong!

OK so Cannon beach was THE WORST CAMPING TRIP EVER. I went with some so-called friends who turned out to be jerks. Still friends with one of the 3 although, probably wouldn’t travel again with her. (The worst of the 3 was her bf who was an old friend of mine who treated her so badly in the end, but niether of us should have been surprised since he was such an ASS to me. As OW says: Beleive people when they show you who they are the first time.)

However I fell in love with Cannon Beach. The water, the sand dunes, the sunsets. It’s heaven. Can’t wait to get back. Might have to make that happen this summer.

I loved it there been there and wow – got to win lottery so i can go there again

On my third trip out here, I came in the middle of winter and took advantage of a mid-week deal at the Courtyard hotel (part of the Inn at Cannon Beach). There was a storm coming in, and I buckled down to finish a section of the book I was working on as the wind howled, the rain lashed the windows, and the fire crackled.

It was well worth it, and I’m hoping to go again in a couple of years.

We enjoyed the walk out to the haystacks. It was fun and a breath of fresh air.

Actually, the only time I saw the Pacific Ocean. This is the place I dream of moving to when summer comes to Kentucky. I know vacations are rarely like life, but it was the best. Waking early to watch the sunrise over the ocean, the gulls snatch their breakfast from the retreating tide, tracking the fronts as they swooped in from the ocean. I could spend every morning like that!

My husband took me to the best place ever! He took to me a great place called the Stephanie Inn, I loved the short time we had there. We go there almost every year for a quick get away. I love only being 1 hour away from the coast. It is a great way to ‘get away’ without going too far and spending alot of money.

I honeymooned with my wife here, and it was so much better than jet-setting off to an island.

all the way from pa, wanted to see the coast, drove through endless sitka spruce and what looked like rainforests, got to the coast, started driving north and found this sweet little town with sweet sweet people. look for marshall the kiteboarder. and drink some thundermuck.
