i went to johannesburg with a tourist group, and for safety reasons, soweto is not on the visiting schedule… i do believe that if you haven’t been to soweto, you know know the real johannesburg…

visiting soweto was life changing for me…i would definitely recommend getting a tour guide to take you around soweto. i helped me learn a lot about the history of that part of south africa and a lot about myself.

You know, you would think I would have made it to Soweto by now, considering it is in my city! And I have been invited several times. I think this should be a priority for me before the end of this year.

there are some great tour opportunities into Soweto you can take now. I’d love to go with one of them next time I get over there. I’ve only been to Soweto once many years ago, and very fleetingly – I’d love to get a better feel of the place.

People think that Soweto is super dangerous, but the truth is that there are a lot of very nice, clean and chic places in Soweto. It is an essential spot for someone who wants to cathch the hearbeat of African diaspora.
