Enchanted Rock State Natural Area

When I was 8 and 9 I lived in San Antonio – my family would come out to Enchanted rock for day hikes at least three times a month. One of my fondest memories of Texas is going hiking here.

Staying at the Dabb’s Hotel and going to Enchanted Rock and the Llano River. Some of the most fun times you’ll ever have :)

the rock – a huge rock formation, “sings” at the sun sets in the summertime. it’s truly one of the most amazing, unbelievable experiences i’ve ever had. a friend of mine proposed to his fiancee on enchanted rock. an ex boyfriend of mine cheated on me with a woman he took to enchanted rock, but unfortunately, neither one of them fell off and broke their necks, as i would have hoped. it’s pretty big.

This is an excellent park to visit, specially if you are looking for some very physical activity. It takes about 20-30 minutes to reach the top, depending on your shape. There are overnight camping facilities and free showers in the restrooms!
Just one thing though- DO NOT TRY TO CLIMB THIS ROCK IN MID DAY DURING THE MONTH OF AUGUST WHEN THE TOP OF THE ROCK REACHES TEMPERATURES OF 120 DEGREES AT TIMES!
