Macedonia

Episode 8:
26 May; Knight’s Inn; Macedonia, Ohio: K missed our midnight rendezvous at the bar in downtown Cleveland. I cursed his lack of reliability and decided to drive home that night. Twenty minutes later I was exhausted and out of gas. I stopped at a Knight’s Inn, thinking it sounded like a cheap chain. The price of a room was fifty a night, again at my maximum. I hedged a bit, waiting for the drop to forty-two. Knight’s Inn apparently had no such price-jousting policy. It was all or nothing here. It was two-thirty in the morning. I took the room.
