La Défense

I was in Paris with Mrs. viii and two of the dots back in 2000. Our hotel was in La Defense.

...but this is the Wall Street of Paris, and there’s not really a lot else to do here.

La Défense is worth a stop during a trip to Paris. It’s very airy, with huge glass skycrapers all around. It also hosts la Grande Arch, or the “new” arc de triomphe. There’s also some cool modern art around: statues from Miro, a colorful waterfeature and this huge thing made out of colored pipes. To our surprise there were also some little parks tucked away.

On my next visit, I would like to see it at night.
