Bucerias
Nothing commercialized about Bucerias that I could see, although there’s a big resort, I think, to the north of town. It’s quiet and relaxed, and about 2/3s the price of Puerto Vallarta.
What’s there:
- Handicraft sellers near the zocolo.
- A nice beach.
- Lots of really yummy smelling street food.
- Restaurants

A review of this place
Small “town” in the bay of puerto vallarta. Small streets filled with vendors selling everything from jewelery to furniture. Visited by adventerous tourists who walk about two kilometers or more up the beach(depending on the resort they are staying at).Really neat place, there are even street bars (walk up bars where you stand and drink). It is VERY local. Bring your bartering skills with a pocket full of pesos and see how much you can bring back! Also has several resturants. You need to choose wisely, one I went to had a patio that was on stilts over the beach, they catch their seafood daily and bring it on a platter fresh before you order (wish I remembered the name of this). You may find you are pestered by barefoot childern trying to sell you packets of chicklets. I would also caution anyone about the stray dogs; do not make eye contact. Overall a great experience.
