Bronx Zoo

The best zoo I’ve ever been to – not that I’ve been to a whole ton of them, so it’s not like I’m an expert. They have Gelada monkeys there! Later this year we’re going all the way to Ethiopia just to see these things in the wild, so you can imagine this was a pretty big thrill.

Also awesome: Okapis, cloud rats, the snowy owl.

great zoo, I think it gets better all the time. If you’ve only been to the central park zoo, hit this one up.

Finally I saw cheetahs! … even though not wild ones. The zoo is bigger and better than I expected, with quite some interesting animals to see. A great day trip out of Manhattan.

Consider grabbing food elsewhere though.. unless you love deep fried junk food.
