Bonneville Salt Flats

Every one says that Utah is boring, but I wanna see the salt flats! My boyfriend says he doesn’t want to go there because really it’s a whole lot of nothing, but I want to see the whole lot of nothing that’s there. I’m from New Zealand, I have never seen a desert of any sort, we don’t have any thing quite like it, there’s plenty of beautiful mountain ranges and what not for me to look at in NZ, it’s actually a bit boring. Seeing a whole lot of nothing would be a new and exciting experience for me.

We stumbled across this spectacular site on our way across Utah. The crystal clear water on top of the salt makes a perfect reflection of the mountains in the background. It looked like a painting. I tried to walk in the water, but the salt was too sharp. I could have spent the whole day admiring the view. I wish we had known about it before we went on our trip and could have scheduled longer to stay and enjoy this gorgeous little piece of our country.
