Botanical Gardens

There is a package deal available for for the Biodome, the Insectarium, and the Botanical Gardens if you are interested in seeing them all.

...but I visited the gardens after the Olympic park and didn’t have enough time or energy to see everywhere I wanted to – I hadn’t realised how big they were! A surprising highlight for me was the insectarium, watching the ant colony is really fascinating (I can’t really explain it – there are videos of it on YouTube though). I also loved the bonsai trees in the Japanese garden.

The only food on sale in the gardens is ice-cream, so if you’re planning to stay for a while, it’s a perfect place for a picnic.

Make sure you schedule a lot of time, as seeing the entire collection can take an entire day, with a lot of walking. Of course, you can view the main collection in about 2 hours. Very nice gardens…

nice peaceful place to walk or sit and contemplate, not far from downtown. easy to reach by metro

wonderful collections including an arboretum

especially like the japanese garden with it`s small huts and the pond etc
they have a lady giving tea ceremonies during the summer – that was really interesting
