Why I want to go to this place
My son very recently enlisted in the Army and is down in Fort Jackson, SC. We plan to drive down in March to see his graduation from Boot Camp. We just received our first letter from him and would you believe – it was a form letter informing us of the name his official company, mailing address and a list of items we cannot send to him. Not even a note or signature although the envelope was in his handwriting. What a Kid! It’s a good thing I love him to pieces…

The last time I went to this place
My son graduated from high school while we were stationed at Fort Jackson. He was my first child. It was both a happy and sad day for me.

A review of this place: Army Basic Trainig!
‘Nough said!
Although I learned more about myself in those 8 weeks than almost any other time in my life!
So I guess I hated it, but found it to be highly valuable!

For my family and country
The decision to commit to a life in the Army or any service branch is not a light one. But when you do join you realize that basic training is a nightmare, and it’s every day all day for 8 weeks. But when you’ve “survived” you’ll feel much stronger and more confident then you ever have. It’s worth the trip, it’ll change your life because you become apart of something bigger than yourself, a United States Soldier.
