Ainsworth Hot Springs

After a day of snowboarding that totally kicked my butt and left me bruised and battered, sitting in the hot water was a nice end to the day. Unfortunately it was really crowded though and not an ideal experience. I’d have rather stayed at a hotel with a hot tub.

Ainsworth is definately worth a visit if you are in Kootenays or Nelson. The drive up is spectacular. Try to go in off hours, pool is relaxing with great view of lake and mountains. The inner cave is hot in both ways – a dark dreamy steamy environment when kids are not playing “ghost”. The Woodbury Creek Campground (mainly RV)about 4-5 km north has a few great tent sights by the lake and creek.
