Kingston

i grew up here. great local music. watch out for the prostitutes on broadway.

Kingston is where I go for groceries, supplies, etc every so often. It’s also the closest mall to where I live.

Is there something that I’m missing? My impression was that Kingston was a strip mall town… a magic mile section of 9W that provides little more than a sore to the eyes with a best buy and a walmart… Admittedly I’ve only been in this area for a little while, but I had no idea that there was actually a real town there, let alone a thriving music and art scene. Is the town hidden or something? All the signposts to Kingston seem to lead to 9W and that awful dense commercial area. I’ll be sure to check it out some time, and actually look for a town.

The surrounding area is very beautiful… the hudson is a little filthy – as anyone who lives around there will know, but the catskills are really quite stunning.

Haven’t lived there in a while, but am always glad to go back and visit. The area has a lot of history and is ever changing. Recently it’s becoming more artsy, which I enjoy. It’s snuggled in between the Catskill Mountains and the Hudson River has stunning scenery.

Kingston NY is a great town on the up and rising. Good music scene, great eating in the center of the Hudson Valley. A little more than halfway between NYC and albany.
