I went with my son’s sophmore history class to see the Louvre exhibit. At first the spaces weren’t as pointy as I wanted them to be. Once we got to the modern art galleries on the third floor though all that changed. The exhibition spaces were every bit as sharp as I had hoped they would be. My personal favorites: The azure steel piece with the great acoustics and the hanging glass drops in the modern art gallery. over 4 years agoTaking Pictures by TheJeanetianIt is not allowed for you to take pictures in… any art museum. However, I tried it. I took a very quick shot of a suit of armor. When I went to get it developed, that picture wasn’t even in the pictures! I felt really silly. over 4 years agoUntitled by LeftFieldSupermarketI went here before the remodel and really want to see it now that it’s done. over 4 years agoUntitled by morgianaI was really disapointed. As a Denver native, I grew up visiting the Art Museum, and absolutely loved the castle-like fascade. The new wing however, leaves something to be desired. It was cold one moment, then hot and stuffy the next, over crowded and a pain in the you-know-what to navigate. If you have Vertigo, Menieres or any other dizziness inducing problems, I don’t recomend the new wing. The constant change in wall angles and temperature triggered a Menieres attack in my husband that lasted two full days. Sadly, there are some wonderfull pieces in the new wing that can easily be overlooked because of the maze-like warren of rooms. Stick to the old wind, and while you may miss some great pieces, you won’t get dizzy! over 4 years agoSee all 13 entries |
