Worth visiting!
How this place changed my life
I’ve not only been there, I actually lived there when I was in Junior High School. It was tough leaving my friends and moving to such a rural place. I was pretty miserable the whole time I lived there, at least socially. However, as an adult, I am so glad that I had the opportunity to learn about southern Utah in such an intimate way. It’s left me with an undying love of the canyon country, colors and grandeur of southern Utah.
This is such a scenic town. Any direction you travel from Boulder (which is exactly three) you will encounter eye popping beauty. The north of town will take you up over Boulder mountain and drop you down at the entrance to Capitol Reef NP. If you head east out of town you will drive into the heart of Capitol Reef via the renowned Burr Trail. If you head out on the most traveled road (Highway 12) you will end up in the town of Escalante where many more adventures await you. Each of the routes are ripe with adventures.
But don’t pass through town too fast. Make sure you stop at the Anasazi Museum and support the local economy. This is a town that is sure to make a lasting impression on you and leave you glad you took the time to go out of your way to see it.
