Hemet

I thought about opening up a practice here in either 2004 or 2005. Decided against it.

If you ever decide to come to Hemet, you must see the historic train depot on the corner of Florida (the main drag) and State St. Also, check out the Ramona Pageant. It is well worth it!!

Hemet actuall has worthwhile things to do, if you’re willing to immerse yourself in its culture and social scene. We are home to California’s official outdoor play, The Ramona Pageant, Diamond Valley Lake, which now has a new water park, small, local-run businesses have done well for years, sometimes even decades, and bigger businesses are seeing the market value of putting one of their stores here. I smell progress. While the smell of progress is strong in the air, Hemet residents are in touch with its roots and history, and can tell you about “the old days” when the corner of Palm and Florida used to be home of the annual Farmers’ Fair, where Ricky Nelson played before he died in a plane crash, and many other things that even I remember from first coming here in 1984.

I don’t think I would travel to Hemet on vacation but it may be worth driving through on your way to Idyllwild. My grandfather once told me that “hemet” is Norwegian for home.
