A must-see when in Milwaukee. The collection is diverse, the shop is great and the Calatrava addition is breathtaking. In the entrance alone you see the lake, a Dale Chihuly glass structure and a Mark Di Suvero sculpture – and that is before you go inside!

The brochures for quick tours were cheeky and fun with topics like “Feeling naughty” which directs you to find art which includes nudity.

our coach researched everything before came so we did all of the touristy type things. The museum flaps it’s wings everyday at noon whick was cool. It does go rather slow though so we did’nt stay for the whole flapping. Inside i loved it. there was a particularly interesting exhibit involving a yellow folding chair a doll with a projected face andtape recorder. I don’t know if this is still there but it was very entertaining.

Worth visiting? Yes.

Obviously, the Calatrava addition is amazing. This alone is worth two hours of driving. Just being in that part of the building makes one feel like one has stepped into a science fiction movie—a good one at that. It makes you want to live in the future.

Past that, the collection of art is interesting. Ok, so the top names of art might not all be there. But what is there is interesting. Certainly there is lots of art from the Renaissance on, and it is quite interesting to see the differences that make the great artists great and why lesser-known artist are lesser known (it was for me anyway).

Conditional "Worth visiting!" by sofakingchicago

The collection leaves a lot to be desired but the “main attraction” delivers.
