A tip I have about this place
It’s not open for dinner. The hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Go early (nothing like clam chowder and an Anchor Steam for breakfast!) or be prepared to wait—there’s usually a line down the sidewalk!

Nice
Really good chowder – I have not been there for a while but it was always really good.

Fresh & free spirited
“Mayberry-style friendliness, impeccable seafood and affordable prices—this family-owned oyster bar has earned its legendary status.”
HOW TRUE! What a beautifully simplistic place. A seafood diner/bar of sorts. I semi-flirted and got myself a deal. For the price of 5 oysters, I got 6 and not just one kind of oysters but 6 different kinds from different oceans and climates. The young man was very kind. Indeed, we got souvenirs (Oyster Depot Sponge) and my clean oyster shells in a neat little paper baggie.
Very open and friendly atmosphere, you can certainly have conversations about anything and should expect other customers to join in.
